SUNIX FTC1239, a MedIO Fiber Converter series, which provides RS-232 to RS-422/485 conversion or serial to fiber conversion. This multiple interface converter is ideally used for RS-232/422 point to point connections or RS-485 multi-drop applications. The Fiber media extends the serial communication range up to 30 KM with single-mode fiber and baud rate transmitting up to 460 Kbps. Users can also use FTC1239 to change the RS-232 interface to RS-422 or RS-485 for increasing data transmission distance up to 1.2 KM by using the differential signal and multi-drop connections. This Fiber media is also the best solution for applications where transmission must be protected from electrical exposure, surges, lighting or chemical corrosion in the industrial environment.
